PUBLIC BETA · EFFECTIVE JULY 29, 2026
Privacy Policy
LocalSpot helps people discover time-sensitive local listings and helps sellers publish them. This policy explains the information the beta currently handles.
Information you provide
If you create a seller account or listing, LocalSpot receives the account details, listing text, public location, schedule, contact information, and photos you submit. If you report a listing or contact support, we receive the name, email, topic, reason, and message details you provide.
Location information
LocalSpot may ask for your device location to show nearby results, display your current city, or help a seller place a listing. When you choose to share your current location, the coordinates may be sent directly from your device to a reverse-geocoding provider so the app can identify the city. LocalSpot does not store a customer’s precise location or track location in the background. Location permission is optional, and a manual map-pin option is available. A seller’s approved listing location is displayed publicly while that listing is active.
Website analytics
LocalSpot uses privacy-focused, cookie-free website analytics to understand overall usage. This may include page views, referring websites, approximate region, browser, operating system, and device type. Analytics data is anonymized and is used to improve LocalSpot, understand which pages are useful, and identify technical problems. It is not used for advertising profiles.
How information is used
Information is used to operate the service, display approved listings, provide support, review reports, prevent abuse, improve LocalSpot, and measure listing views, saves, direction requests, and general website activity. Basic activity counts do not require a customer account.
Storage, retention, and sharing
Account and listing information is stored using service providers that support LocalSpot. Active account data is retained while the account remains open. Support requests, reports, and limited safety records may be retained when reasonably necessary to respond, prevent abuse, or comply with law. We do not sell personal information. Public listing information is visible to people using LocalSpot and may be opened in third-party map services when a user requests directions.
Your choices and deletion
You can deny location permission, choose a location manually, pause or delete listings, or permanently delete your LocalSpot account and associated data. Account deletion removes the profile, listings, listing photos, favorites, and account access. Some support or safety records may be retained when reasonably necessary for security or legal compliance.
